How do you know that what you know or understand reflects reality? Are there times when your ideas about what is true turn out to be false?

I never know for sure. Hell if the world agrees with you, it doesnt mean your right! Look how many people have followed and believed in Dictators, Cults, and just plain stupid people. They paid the price in the end. I just believe in what I believe. If I am proved wrong, then I gain knowledge.
Reply:Every thesis has an anti-thesis. It's a fact that our knowledge or ideas are always subject to a difference in opinion. Thats what makes us human. Inability to understand this can cause hatred that leads to destruction.
Reply:To the first question you pose, I would say, "knowledge and ideas are not VALID. The term 'valid' is used to discuss the internal consistency of an argument (i.e., does a conclusion logically follow from the premises?). Knowledge and ideas are true or false (at least according to modernist logic)."
To the second and third question, I would simply say that pure, uncorrupted certainty is an epistemological impossibility. However, you should note that the complexity occurs in the very fact that SUCH a claim ("that pure, uncorrupted certainty is an epistemological impossibility") is ITSELF UNCERTAIN!!
