Reply:An experience is a phenomena, something occurring to a sensate being from outside of itself. If you are a realist you believe in happens in "the world" as a material event.

If you are a transcendentalist you believe that it happens between a sender and a receiver, like a phone call.

But a phenomena is a way of describing an experience accurately without using the word.

Reply:An experience (to me): collective data, often sensual, absorbed, digested, rationalized, and stored within oneself for future reference or recall.

Reply:Experience is how the mind reacts to a perception from the external world. It is therefore subjective and blurred because how the mind reacts is dependent on a preconceived set of variables that lie in the mind.

The sense of an experiencer is within the mind, and is the ego, which differentiates between experience and experiencer.

However if we take awareness without any relation to the mind, it is possible to be aware of something without experiencing it, that is without the mind reacting to the experience.

Experience always lies within the mind.
