...the shift is a split 8am-2pm and then 4:30pm-8:30pm?
My employer is well aware that not only am I still in high school, but that I have dilpoma exams all week.
Is it legal to be working a shift like that?
Also, they have me working 20 hours in three days time.

Yes, it's legal. Just wait till you get out of college and get a job working 8 to 9 four or five days a week. Hell most pharmacists work that kind of shift with no official break for lunch, dinner, bathroom etc. for their entire career.

It's not illegal under federal law, but many if not most states have laws limiting work by minors. Without knowing what state you are in, can't answer, but check your state website, it might have some info.
Reply:Apparently, the laws in Canada are similiar to the laws in the US. Your boss was very much in the wrong. You can only work 20hrs in a 5 day school week and only 4hrs a day. The only question is how to fight it. Check with your local government and see what you can turn up. There should be some sort of labour board or committee in your country. Good luck!
