How do you paint in oils? Any tips?
I'm curious about how to put the foundation and also how to mix oils with oil pastels. I love to draw, but I'm a beginner in
painting. Would like to try it and play around with it though. Any advice greatly appreciated!

Learn from the best you can afford. Look up local painters in your area through your local art gallery or town art clubs. Look up the classic artists in your local library, some of their techniques are shared right in the books.
There are many wonderful books on art techniques and many online art courses-many are free. Search for free online art techniques.

Reply:Short of taking an art class there is always your local library. When i decided to learn to paint with oils i went to my local library and checked out as many books as i could get my hands on. No artist approaches painting the same way and different techniques work better than others so i made sure i checked out books by as many different artists as i could. At this point i am really satisfied on how far i have gotten but i still go back to the books to study up and try more difficult difficult techniques to see if they will work for me.
