It is possible however working freelance is difficult these days especially in the field mentioned.

yes. just shout to ur boss "i quit!" and drive to walmart buy some artists supplies(if they have them there) and go home and make wonders :)
Reply:Yes, Although it is tough at times. You could go part time with your job and try it out for awhile. Give yourself a period of time to build a body of work. Then if it doesn't work out, perhaps your job will take you back full time.
Reply:It's always POSSIBLE, but there is no guarantee you can make a living off of it.
In your job, someone ELSE goes out and finds the clients. As a freelance designer, THAT job is YOURS. In other words, you will be a salesperson FIRST, and a designer second. You can't sit around at home, watching soaps and, just, HOPE someone calls and offers you an assignment.
I am on my third attempt at making a full time go as a freelancer, and, at the end of this month, it will be the first time I will have gone a full year without having to go out and find a regular job to get my bills paid.
